The Door
The Door is a book that represents two stories that intersect. One story is of Gene, who is a plain man that shows his creativity only through writing from his imagination. He begins to write a story about a man exploring a fantasy world. The second story is the story that Gene is typing about the man exploring an unknown world. That man finds a house in the land. He goes to house and knocks on the door. The story of Gene continues through his story writing, and while he is typing he hears a knock at the door. The book's form is meant to represent the two parallel stories that intersect, in the only world that it can happen -- a book. Die cuts, and an innovative binding is what carries the story through the book.
