Healthy Sight For Life Fund is a recent website redesign project that I finished. I took this project from wireframing to page designs and then worked with a developer to see the site to completion. It is an informational and educational site focused on rewarding eye doctors or institutions in the community by granting them money for their efforts. Launch the site at HealthySightForLife.org.

Dirt Bath is a line of bath & body products for boys. The concept plays into the fun that young boys have while playing in the dirt and mud. It solves the problem of enticing boys to want to bathe, because it is fun, and can be just like playing outside. The bath products are carried through with a dirt monster character who shows boys how to scrub with dirt. The actual products are all natural, and they look like mud.

This is American Music is an entry to the Real Show, a competition hosted by the Art Directors Club of Metropolitan Washington. The contest asks student designers to solve design problems that have been submitted by design firms, as projects already completed. This design problem was to design a poster and T-shirt for a Rock & Roll revue. The concert series features four independent rock bands. With my poster and T-shirt, I wanted to capture the off-beat rock feeling. I illustrated the names of the bands coming from an old-style gramophone that connects to a flower. The gramophone is meant to represent the roots of the American rock bands. The motif is carried on to the T-shirt.

The Door is a book that represents two stories that intersect. One story is of Gene, who is a plain man that shows his creativity only through writing from his imagination. He begins to write a story about a man exploring a fantasy world. The second story is the story that Gene is typing about the man exploring an unknown world. That man finds a house in the land. He goes to house and knocks on the door. The story of Gene continues through his story writing, and while he is typing he hears a knock at the door. The book's form is meant to represent the two parallel stories that intersect, in the only world that it can happen -- a book. Die cuts, and an innovative binding is what carries the story through the book.

This is a spread designed for a fashion magazine. The spread features a candy-colored brooch that is good enough to eat. The concept is that a woman uses her baking skills and the decorative brooch to impress a man. But, alas, she realizes that she wants the brooch for herself and she does not need to impress a man. The icing on the cupcakes is used for the typography. I styled, and shot the photos myself, and I went as far to make the apron to get the right touch.

This is a paper sample package for a cover weight line of papers called ReCover papers. It is based around the idea of recovering from awkward situations. Each type of paper represents common awkward situations that also relate to the type of paper. Each situation is illustrated typographically, and also given a title on the reverse side. The concept is to create a fun overall theme that will entice the audience into looking through and touching all the paper textures. The outer case also carries through the common awkward situation of pushing on a door when it is meant to be pulled.
